Job Description

Our client, a leader in Defense technologies, based out of southern NH, is seeking an experienced RF/Design Engineer to join their team.

 

Title:   RF/Design Project Engineer
 
Job Description: An RF Design/Project Engineer with demonstrated expertise in developing and validating requirements for unique communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic sub-systems, systems and board development requirements as well as specific experience in RF and board level architectures.
 
Responsibilities:
 
1. Provides, and is capable of hands-on development at the board level with the ability to see the big picture in terms of integration into higher level systems and platforms with minimal supervision and requirements documention.

2. Works with source selection teams to identify appropriate suppliers for critical programs and is capable of making 'make vs buy' decisions.

3. Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle from prototype through manufacturing to customer use by coordinating product-wide corrective and preventive actions as required.

4. Provides RF technical expertise for system solutions and in RF designs such as transceivers, receivers, and related sub-assemblies.

5. Participates as part of a small design and development team to produce prototype system designs within their respective discipline and participates in design reviews when required.

6. Leads development and execution of critical tests to validate performance of designs to requirements.

7. Manages appropriate aspects of critical supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements.

8. Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle by providing guidance and support to resolve complex issues and by their proven track history of designing for producibility.
 
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 
1. Must have knowledge, skills and abilities with Design synthesis tools specifically experience with Altium and Microwave Office.

2. Knowledge, ability and proven experience performing trade studies, RF modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnect, system and board level performance and to optimize design around complex requirements.

3. Knowledge, Skills and abilities to work with mixed signal technologies on Circuit Card Assemblies(CCAs) and or RF modules.

4. Proven ability to apply RF design knowledge and develop CCAs/Modules between the HF and X band region. Proven ability to apply circuit design concepts and techniques to real world problems and generate producible designs capable of being implemented in small production efforts as well as largeproduction efforts.
 
 
5. Capability to support Project, Project Engineering and Systems engineering management by providing and coordinating input into the development of work statement(s) and Requirements documents, and has the ability to budget, schedule and coordinate other required inputs and conducting appropriate reviews in their area of involvement.

6. Ability to lead development of applicable and appropriate sections of large-scale proposals within the context of RF engineering to support development of new business.

7. Proven track history and knowledge, skill and capability to lead/perform hands-on design-bench-deployment efforts for small, multi-disciplinary team(s) in the rapid design, development, integration and test of operational prototypes ultimately leading to small and medium production efforts.

8. Capable of working independently as well as part of small teams.

9. Works under consultative direction.
 
 
Education and Experience Required:
 
A BSEE or related technical degree, with a minimum of 5+ years RF Design and project management experience is required. 6-10 years of experience is preferred.
 
Other requirements:
 
This position requires ability to obtain a security clearance, and, therefore, US citizenship is essential. Active or recent Secret or higher level DOD clearance is desired. Some travel is required with occasional field trips extending upwards of 1-2 weeks duration.
