Our client, a leading healthcare facility in MN, is seeking an EHR Data Conversion Interface Analyst to assist them for the next seven months.
An experienced EPIC interface analyst is needed to serve as the Bridges interface resource during the analysis, build / configuration, validation and execution of data conversions. This data conversion project will provide historical data necessary to support clinicians in delivering high quality patient care and meet the requirements of a legal medical record. This effort will be done as part of a phased implementation of a large, integrated Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for multiple sites.
This analyst position reports to the Data Conversion Project Manager. The interface analyst will be part of a data conversions team working closely with ancillary system subject matter experts (laboratory, radiology, etc.), Epic application subject matter experts, an external “data transformation vendor” and, in some cases, end-users. The interface analyst will also be expected to work with other Client' employed interface analysts who have extensive experience with the ancillary systems and the specific interfaces being used for data conversions.
The interface analyst is expected to apply appropriate best practices to ensure high-quality, low-error data conversions. Ideally, this analyst would have experience with complex clinical data conversions and with Epic system implementations.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Perform preliminary investigation of interface-related business and system requirements identified during the analysis phase.
· Communicate with the other team members to ensure that application functionality and workflow requirements and needs are being addressed and met.
· Serve as the point person for assigned interfaces with the following responsibilities:
o Coordinate analysis calls
o Maintain business requirements documentation
o Determine impact to interface, document configuration and build changes needed
o Escalate issues or roadblocks encountered during analysis
o Perform configuration / build changes
o Coordinate or assist in all testing/validation of the interface and conversion
o Assist with troubleshooting during testing and validation
· Develop interface specifications and update the masterfile records through chronicles.
· Update and maintain Bridges interface translation tables
· Set up identity type (IIT) records to support unique recognition of various masterfile records among multiple systems (EAP, ELG, etc)
· Work with project manager to maintain a detailed issues list to be reviewed periodically with vendor (Epic and legacy system vendors) and the various teams.
· Run error code frequency reports for multiple EPIC interfaces; investigate and analyze the errors, causes of failure,
· Participate in resolving the failed messages and resubmit the messages before signoff.
· Update multiple masterfile records (EAP,DEP,ROM,BED,ERX,ELG,LLR,LLB, etc) through an established chronicles import process. Follow change control management per Client's established processes.
· Create mapping documents (categories, tables, etc) for HL7 fields and sub-fields by collecting Epic system values and values from the other systems to serve as a central reference for doing mapping among the various systems.
· Setup ID types for different masterfile records. Ensure data confirms to the rules of the id type record for integrity; ensure data from end users is unique and confirms to the id type definition.
