Assignment: A systems engineer is needed to participate in the development of advanced surveillance systems developed under sponsorship from the US Department of Defense, Transportation and Homeland Security. The position includes development of radar subsystem proof of concept designs for varying radar types as well as collaboration on systems use and multiple systems fusing.

NECESSARY EDUCATION: Radar Engineer with BS in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education and experience. RF analog & digital electronics design and radar systems experience.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Candidate must have five (10) or more years in the development, performance analysis, diagnostics and problem resolution of advanced radar systems. Experience with surveillance systems in air traffic control, especially with radar data is highly desired. Experience with full life cycle of radar systems engineering process including functional specification, design, implementation, testing is required.

Special Talents: Experience with airport surveillance radars (especially ASR-9), Mode S Beacon, Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR), and NEXRAD weather radar systems is required. Experience with FAA radar systems and US Military land-based radars also required. Experience with anomaly detection, analysis, and resolution in a variety of surveillance systems is required. Experience with interactions with FAA program offices is highly desired. Experience with engineering analysis programs, radar automation systems, and modifications used in modern radar systems Service Life Extension Programs (SLEP) are highly desired. Must have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work in a team environment. Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Level Clearance.
